Campland is a farmhouse ale brewed each year at our hop harvest festival with fresh hops from our farm. Each year we invite a guest brewery to collaborate on this beer to spread the gospel of connecting beer, community, and agriculture.

Our piece of land served as the main parcel of land to the Camp family homestead for well over two hundred years. Originally stretching from one end of Camps Road in Kent Hollow to the other, this large swath of land was referred to as Campland amongst the family. Our harvest festival each year is a reminder and celebration of what was and what will be.

500mL bottled December 2020, drunk 5/19/22. Beeswax-marigold. Lightly hazy, fizzy white head. What a nose! Soft, delightful, rich barnyard funk for days. Light lemon, big, easygoing Brett and tons upon tons of rustic grains adding all sorts of fresh baked sourdough, biscuit and such. Clean, no alcohol, low acidity, but great balance with tons of mineral and mild sulfur and other various funk. Very flavorful for its size with lemon, big bursts of lactic acid and a bit of metallic yeast (thing is 2.5 years old so some autolysis and other actual yeast flavor is normal). Solid malt texture, good attenuation, good depth, light sweetness. Bigger and richer flavor than expected for its size. A lot going on here. White grape, strong mineral, yogurt, stronger lactic acidity with warming.

Bottle from the source: pours hazy light gold with a white head. Funky aroma, fruity hops, basements. Taste is sweet, tart, not acidic, smooth. Good.

We need more farmhouse pale ales and farmhouse everything in the universe, deliciously complex tart sweet hop notes on a tangy light funk.
