American Pale Ale hopped with CTZ, Amarillo, Citra, and Cascade hops. Brewed with a clean American yeast strain, a light touch of caramel malt, and flaked oats. Very fruit-forward with resin oil and hoppy orange-blossom flavors.

Romans are straw, citrus, barnyard, malt and tobacco. Flavors are similar to nose. Bittersweet. Okay body and carbonation. Kind of run of the mill. Decent and drinkable but forgettable.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: copper color with a two and a quarter of fingers of white foamy head which dissipated leaving some light lace
Aroma: grapefruity to piney to subtle mixed citrusy hoppiness; light caramel to biscuity malts? Yeah, I think so
Flavor: intertwines the prior noted aromas to a good sweet to bittersweet character; finishes mostly with the citrusy, piney and malty tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable; good amount of smoothness over the tongue
Overall: pretty easy drinker worth coming back to possibly by my grill.

More like a session IPA than a pale ale, but that seems to be the story with most “modern” APAs. Lots of citrus pith and tropical notes, a hint of toasted grain, and a touch of pine and minerals on the back end. Not my type of pale ale.

Keg at the Veil taproom, Scott's Addition - original Richmond location (3rd last night!), 14/04/23. Clear deep golden with a just off white cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is grass, melon, toasted malts, orange zest, straw. Taste comprises grapefruit, pine needle, dank whisper, citric tinged straw. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with grassy come lightly dankened hop bitterness. Decent pale.
