Farmhouse Hitchhiker is a Farmhouse Ale that’s inspired by the amazing hops currently being produced in New Zealand. We’ve created this beer as a tribute to the farmers that have grown these hops, such as Motueka, Nelson Sauvin and Wai-iti, which possess incredible flavour and aroma.

Farmhouse Hitchhiker is made from two different types of grain, clear Belgian candi sugars and coriander seeds to create a crisp, fruity and thirst-quenching Belgian-styled Farmhouse Ale. We use a variety of New Zealand hops for each batch to rotate the flavours of lemons, limes, grapefruits, peaches or crushed gooseberries. A Belgian-style yeast strain gives the beer a traditional Farmhouse taste.

Can from Two Brews, Colchester. Pours fizzy, yellow to pale gold in colour, with a big frothy white head. Aroma of yeast, hops, citrus fruit, grass, grain and floral notes. Light sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, slight chalky texture, above average carbonation. Citrus bitter and floral finish. Grew on me, though too much carbonation.

Can. Beer Central, Sheffield. Super hazy, yellow gold. Thin, clingy, white head. Good looker. Nose has familiar Belgian yeast esters. The wood chips are quite pronounced. Some notes of lime zest and white grape juice. Taste is mostly dry, with a little sour twang. Some earthy bitterness, curiously. Fairly clean mouthfeel. Crisp, prickly carbonation. Drying and lightly sour on the finish.
