A powerfully refreshing gluten-free lager, Steve is a testament to the value of a refusal to compromise. A bright aroma of gooseberries and freshly cut grass open up for the main malt-based event — a showcase of the best British lager malt we could find.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up at the Bottle Shop, Bermondsey. Pours crystal clear yellow-gold with a fading, foamy white head. Pale grains in the nose, with nips of lemon peel hay, biscuits. Light sweet flavour with more biscuits, simple pale grains, low bitterness, white bread crust, faint papery accents. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly sweet in the finish, with almost no hop presence, more pale bread, biscuits, pale grains, straw. Well, they nailed the style. This is really simplistic, and really drinkable. It lands somewhere in the high-brow, regional pale lager category of American pale lager. Good effort.
