On tap at Mad for Beer, Rome-Italy. Pour a hazy light gold, medium white foam with retention and drafts on the glass. Nose: mild smoked, mozzarella. Mouth: sage, tea, citric and lactic. For sessions. Glad I have tried this style, interpreted in a wired way. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle at home, 25/05/16. Clear light golden with a moderate off white cap that dissipates some then stops to acquaint itself. Nose is smoked malt, Rooibos notes for sure, spice, lemon drizzle, light bonfire charr. Taste comprises grain, more Rooibos tea, light bush fire, herbal, spice, lemon tinged straw, leafy hop. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough Gose ... does what it says on the tin perfectly but would I want to go back for more ... No !

Bottle at home picked up from the Bottle shop, split with Sarah. A mostly clear bright yellow / straw coloured pour with a frothy white head. Aroma is smokey phenols, cured meats, charcuterie, hints of tangy apple and wheat and maybe some brown sugars. Flavour is composed of crisp grains, earthy pilsner malts, crisp sourness, tangy apple and smoked meat, phenols. A little wooden pencil on the finish. Smokeyness is pretty restrained in the flavour and melds well with the overall beer, as in the sourness for that matter. An enjoyable interesting beer.

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury and drunk at home. Hazy pale gold lasting white head. Smoke on the aroma no doubt. I don’t tend to like these salty beers, but I read that it had smoke so thought I’d take a chance. Smoke salt and lemon. It’s different, it’s entertaining, it wakes up your tastebuds, it has no faults. But ultimately I’m not a fan of salt in beer. It’s strong lemon and good smoke. Yes good, but not for me.
