Ares is the feared and fearless Greek god of war: a ruthless warrior and an unreliable lover Our American Amber ale is a style known for its balance between rich malt character and hop aroma. The red hue is created with Munich and Crystal malt, while Columbus, Chinook and Simcoe contribute distinct piney and grassy American hop aromas and bitterness. Ares loves to be paired with grilled meats, spicy foods and pizza after coming out of the heat of battle.

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', bottled in February 2018. Clear, ruby with a medium large, frothy, stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit resiny aroma of raisins, strawberry jam, some caramel and hints of pine. Moderately sweet, malty, slightly fruity and quite resiny taste of pine, strawberry jam, raisins and some caramel, followed by a short, medium bitter, slightly dry and rather resiny finish. Full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!

Draught @ In De Wildeman. Mostly clear deep amber to reddish brown color. Frothy off white head with some lacing. Aroma's: a bit vegetal, caramellish. Retronasal it's firm hoppiness, bitter, light caramel. Flavor is above moderate bitter, roasted. Light bodied. Firm bitter finish.
