In 2020 and the first half of 2021 were so tough for beer lovers our only option was for 'Steve' to grow up a little and progress from 'Session Bitter' to 'Best Bitter' increasing in alcoholic strength but retaining the classic caramel and English hop bitterness expected.

Deep amber with a thick off-white head. Caramel dominates, with some stewed plums and the faintest hint of old, dusty hops. A bit watery and a touch too sweet.. It's a lowest common denominator bitter; very dull and uninspiring.

Hand-pulled half-pint in the Gloucester Brewhouse and Kitchen on 20th December 2024. Golden amber body, white crown. Fruity front to the aroma and taste, becomes more malty as you get into it. Decent enough without being too exciting.
