Inspired by the city of 1000 trades, this is a lager to represent the many paths Birmingham has taken. Drawing from differing German and Czech traditional approaches to lager brewing, Forward is light, refreshing and crisp, with a subtle but complex flavour.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a clear golden colour with a lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt and dry lager yeast. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a crisp, fresh, light buttery yeast, herbal, light woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. As far as lagers go, this isn’t bad.
