Today is Helen Keller Day in the USA, and it's traditional to hold a charity fashion show to honour the deafblind activist. This beer is a traditional style bitter, something that may come back in fashion in the future, and this easy drinking reimagining of an old recipe is pretty decent. Mild fruits against a dominant bitterness.

500ml bottle from Home Bargains. Clear golden-amber with some off-white fizz leaving a light spotted head. Aroma of toasted malts with hint of hedgerow like hops. Taste of malts with hint of caramel, some grapefruit and spice from the hops. A light easy drinking ale with a reasonable bitterness but very simple in flavour.

500ml bottle from Home Bargains. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Sweetish, caramel and hedgerow fruit aroma with some leafy hops. Easy drinking, with more caramel, some ripe malts, leading to a gently bitter finish. Fine.

500ml bottle from a local 'Home Bargains' store: BB 21st March 2025. Drank and home with Robert my cousin on 14th May 2024. Clean amber body, white crown, looks fine, pity it was so weak and uninteresting, not a good blend of hops and malts. Third of a cask pint at the brewpub in Liverpool on 14th May 2025, still not great.

500ml bottle from Home Bargains Westhill. It pours clear deep amber with a small bubbly white head. The aroma is tasty, woody, nutty, pencil shavings, bitter - sweet, touch of toffee and dried leaves. The taste is firmly dry, rather bitter, some grapefruit, charred wood, toasty, earthy, coffee grounds, rather nutty, walnut shells, tannin, forest floor, earthy, leathery and cacao nibs with a lingering bitter, charred & nutty finish. Light to average body and average carbonation. Ok elements to it, but it is rather bitter, cherry and almost burnt.

[50cl bottle from Home Bargains, Bracknell.] A bright golden amber pour with a short lived cream head and gentle carbonation; malty aroma; malty taste with some caramel; and a light but insistent spicy bitterness from the Fuggles hops. A rather good ordinary bitter.
