Oak-Aged Flanders Style Sour Ale We are pleased to release to you a beer three years in the making. We aged this beer in Portuguese Pedro Ximenez sherry as well as French oak wine barrels on a classic mixed culture of Lacto, Pedio and Brettanomyces. Over its extended stay in barrels it developed a balanced funk profile with a lightly tart acidity. It’s exhibiting characters of dark fruit leather, fancy pipe tobacco, funk and mature oak. Bourgogne d’ Ferndale is a nod to the original name of Flanders style sour ales. Traditionally being called the “Burgundy of Flanders”.
