Bottle shared at Chris and Ruth Pre-GBBF 2017 tasting - London. Cheers! BB 1996. Pours clear amber with a small, foamy head. THe nose holds leathery berries, carpet, earth. Medium sweet, meaty, some tangy and leathery berries. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with more notes of leather, tangy berries. So so.

Bottle(1990s vintage) at C&R Pre-GBBF Tasting 2017. It pours deep brown with a small, bubbly beige head. The aroma is sweet, tangy, oily, juicy, dried fruits, blackcurrant, wood and sherry. The taste is tangy, sour, decent mouth-pucker, dried fruits, sour berry, blackcurrant, vinous quality and damp leaves. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather vinous stuff. Has definitely evolved into something else completely over time. Fun to try anyhow.

The great pre GBBF bottleshare at ChrisO’s. Hazy deep amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and still carries reasonable carbonation. Oxidised caramel malts, Sherry. Some tangy sourish fruits. Mild berries. Light tangy fruity finish. Still some merit in this 20+ year old beer.

Bottle shared at Chriso’s and Ruth pre GBBF shindig, August 5, 2017. Pours brown, looks flat. Sour brown nose. Nice sourish with some chocolate there. Tannins and reminds me a Flemish red bit. Nice one and time has treated it well.
