Here at HonestBrew, we love cycling and have a bit of a competitive streak, so when we first heard about the Tour de Tech we didn't waste any time signing up. Over six months we raced against 50 of the top startups in London and ended up winning the whole damn thing! As a prize we won £40,000 towards a marketing campaign.

Rather than spending the prize on ourselves, we decided to brew a beer for beer fans. That's where you came in - voting for style, strength, flavour and appearance of the beer that would be brewed especially. The winning combo was a 5%-6%, Hazy IPA with Citrusy and Zesty flavours.

A winning single hop IPA overflowing with bold aromas and flavours. Hefty doses of Citra usher in bright citrus fruit aromas. Vibrant grapefruit, lemon and mandarin flavours are tempered by the addition of oats to produce a soft mouthfeel. A sensory overload built upon the foundation of Northern Monk’s distinctive house yeast strain. Deliciously fruity, unashamedly hazy, and a true collaborative effort – the race to finish your can won’t last long.

Can, gift from my brother. Hazy bronze body with a thick white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of lemon drops, dusty malt and sponge cake. Flavour of underripe pineapple and lemongrass. Medium body with a frothy mouthfeel. Soft fizz. Sweet and lemony.

Can shared at Chris & Ruth’s pre-GBBF Shindig 2017 - Part 1. A hazy pale bright golden beer with a mid-sized most good lasting white head. Aroma of mild citrusy hops, yellow fruits, pale malt. Taste of mild grassy bitter hops, citrus, some pineapple, good!

Bottle from Honest Beer. It pours pretty hazy bright gold with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, quite juicy, zesty, orange, tangerine, mandarin, brioche and toasted oat. The taste is dry, good hit of bitterness, zesty, pine, grapefruit, orange peel, mandarin, kumquat, tangerine, pine, touch of piss with a firmly dry finish. Light - medium body and fine, massaging carbonation. Fresh and well - rounded. Drinks very well.
