Our newest Baltic Porter pours a dark brown-to-black hue, showcasing an off-white head. Notes of baker's chocolate, toasted brown bread and hints of dark fruit touch the nose. Subtle roast, an earthy-nuttiness and caramel notes also touch the palate.

Canned 9/9/24, drunk 10/17/24. Clear dark chocolate with deep burgundy tints. Dark beige head is small-to-medium-sized, well-retained. Nutty and chocolatey with a healthy base malt backing adding rich honey undertones. Clean with light mineral and lots of biscuit and chocolate on the finish. Medium-bodied, or maybe even medium-light for its abv. But still a richness of flavor with a lightly roasted, sweet chocolate maltiness featuring light honey and brown bread. Soft, rich, clean and lightly fruity but not overdone on the dark fruits (not just a glass of raisin and prune). Probably pretty close to the real thing, which was probably around this abv and doubtfully had some big, thick, chewy body. Supremely well-executed, as always, from Schilling.
