In the early morning and evenings, the hop yard becomes a virtual lounge for many of the species of birds that spend time around our farm. There was no better sight to name our first 100% Connecticut pale ale after.

Bird Post is made with a significant charge of freshly harvested and dried whole cone hops from Smokedown Farm (Sharon, CT) in the kettle and dry hopped with a selection of the finest pellets from this year’s crop. Our goal is to create a beer that has unadulterated layers of hop character exposing the nuance of what our local growers have to offer. Ripe with citrus, tea, and spice.

Rail Trail Hudson draught, 9/27/24. Heavily hazy, lemony-golden. Small, white head, quickly to ring. Lightly juicy, estery nose, lots of soft fruit. Lemon and biscuit. Clean. Juicy, fruity, lightly bitter, moderately malty, very dry. Lots of lemon and cracker. Clean, drinkable, balanced. But a bit lacking in personality.

Pours hazy yellow. Aroma of pineapple. Taste has some apple notes, juicy, nice hop resin elements. Palate has more fruityness. Quite good.
