Give yourself to the dark side and allow yourself to be beckoned towards this velvety, silky stout seducer. This dark, devilish enticer has a rich, deep character that packs a chocolatey and nutty hit. Be careful because when you do succumb, it’ll disarm you with its complex flavours swirled up by the moreish malty layers.
Aroma: Roasted coffee, warmed dark chocolate.
Flavour: Black treacle, nuts toasted on the fire, toffee, dark chocolate ganache.

Pours a dark brown colour, getting to the black side with a warm beige mocha-coloured head which is quite big, lasts long and leaves foam spots. Lots of dark fruits in the nose over the roasted malts. So, prunes and hints of coffee, chocolate. The taste is mostly the roasted malts with the roasted coffee mild bitterness in the finish. Nothing too special, but quite drinkable.

Bottle. Black with next to no head. A steady stout, there's some silky roasted malts due to a fairly smooth texture. There is a grittiness about it though.

Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Black, small head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Mid dry with medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Coffee and dark chocolate. Velvetty finish with masked bitterness. How rare it has become with dry cask stouts these hipster days.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with huge, frothy to macropore, collapsing, brown head. Sweet-ish, chocolately, dark malty aroma, hints of couverture, vanilla, hundreds and thousands. Taste is dry, minimally sweet, roasty dark malty, slightly chocolately, hints of dark chocolate, couverture, some vanilla. Silky, minimally sticky palate, but quite overcarbonated.

330ml bottle from Beer 52; BB Feb 2020. Poured into a Chimay chalice at home on 15th Apr 19. Black (like it's name) bodied, swiftly fading tanned topping that disappeared completely after about 30 seconds. Smoky chocolate nose and taste with some vanilla and toffee esters/flavours.

[33cl bottle from Beer52.] A flat looking, opaque black pour with no head; rich chocolatey aroma; rather thin in the mouth, tasting of burnt treacle and chocolate syrup; then a smooth fruity chocoalte finish with an ashy bitterness.
