This is a Flanders Red style ale. It has a subtle fruit note, especially cherry, with a sour finish. Unlike some sour beers, this does not overwhelm the pallet, simply adds to the complexity. Aged one year in Wente white wine barrels.

Tap at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark, slightly ruddy copper with a beige head. Aroma suggests good ol’ Flemish sour red ale. Med body at least. Flavor is lightly sour, something suggesting cherry, a little maltiness, fairly astringent, with chocolate hints in the finish. Quite nice.

Draft. Rich amber beer with a dark cream head. Fruity aroma with light oak and light yeast. White wine and cherry flavor with light yest, light oak, and light tartness. Medium bodied. White wine and cherries linger with tartness/light sourness.
