Sour Fruits + Wild Yeast + Refreshing Zing
Think of throwing ripe fruit against a dry stone wall on a hot summer’s day and deeply inhaling.
It’s zesty and pithy, with grapefruit and orange peel and a wraparound fullness. A grapefruit zing in the glass, some acidity and a farmyard earthiness.
The Amuse has been aged in wonderful Burgundy Chardonnay barrels, the acidity of the beer not disimilar to that of the wine that was previously aged in them.

Tasting at Bruce’s. Hazy gold beer, residual white head. Palate is light, semi dry and crisp. Tart but not overly so, little lenon acid, pretty mellow. Mild seltzer. Crisp finish with a tangy lemon linger. Pretty approachable.

Bottle. Beer Central, Sheffield. Hazy, dark straw colour. No head. White wine vinegar. Soft fruits. Grainy malt. Slightly woody. Taste is light dry, turning light tart. Some sweetness mingled in. Some acidity. Low carbonation. Finishes tart, and toasty, woody dry. Liked this one.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Kenny. Pours mostly clear yellow-gold with a foamy white head. The nose holds some sweet, lightly doughy pale bread, tangy citrus. Light-medium sweet flavor with sugary cereal, corn, buttered popcorn, ripe lemons. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. A bit more refreshing on the finish, some further cereal, butter. Seems a little young.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Cloudy yellow pour, little to no head. Aromas are like a Berlinerweisse, sour lemon, funk and hay. Taste has a good tart sour hit, more lemon and hay, something grainy. Finish is a little thin.

Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Hazy golden, coarse head. Funky cobweb and lemon juice aroma. Mid dry with light-medium body and roinded mouithfeel. Elegant with notes of pear and wood. Mild sourness, lots of funkiness. Low bitterness. Nise!

Keg at Indymanbeercon 2013. It pours hazy pale gold with a minimal white head. The nose is barnyard, funky, grainy, earth and hay. The taste is tart, orange, apricot, tangerine, lemon, brett, hay, straw, earth, some bitterness, mild astringency and light alcohol with a dry, somewhat earthy finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Nice tartness. Decent, but lacks any great depth.
