Bomber to glass. Black with full brown head. Overt roastiness with slight chocolate backing. Taste is coffee and chocolate. Deep roast leads to a high bitterness. Kind of like drinking a dark roast, cold pressed coffee. Not terribly complex, but nice enough.

Bomber from the Nugget Market in Vacaville, CA. Pours very black with a slight dark tan head that didn’t last long. Aroma is dark roast malt, with some thing so intense it makes me think of meat. Full bodied plus! Flavor is very smooth dark roast malt, with bitterness. I think there’s coffee and chocolate. Treacle. Hop - must be. This is very strongly flavored ale. There is no trace of heat. There’s too much malt to label it dry, but it deserves to be labeled dry. It’s just that sort of thing. Strong flavors; bitterness; malt struggling to assert itself. I will not be surprised to find this getting impressive awards. Think I’m getting some hop burn with time. Incredibly excellent ale.
