Craftsman is our Chocolate oatmeal stout. To brew it we add a proportion of organic oatmeal to the mash for a velvety smooth mouthfeel. and plenty of dark roasted coca nibs to the mash, boil and fermentor. The result is a rich, intense stout with notes of dark chocolate that gradually gives way to a subtle hop finish. With malt, coffee and chocolate flavours, Craftsman pairs well with any dessert, or match it with hearty fare such as venison and beef

Bottle. Black beer with a brown head. Roast and light coffee aroma with light chocolate. Malt and light caramel flavor with chocolate. Medium bodied. Chocolate and light caramel lingers with light earthiness.

Bottle shared by Marcus. Pours very dark brown/black with a fizzy, but substantial, dark tan head that went down rapidly. Aroma is carbon dioxide and chocolate. Med minus body. Flavor is reminding me of a cookie of some sort. There’s a lot of dark chocolate and coffee. It’s lightly sweet in the finish, but the various bitters balance that out.

Pours pitch black with a fading tan head.Nose shows chocolate, roasted malt, earthy coffee grounds and soft spicy hops. Also a touch of liquorice. Pretty tempting. The same coffee and roasted malt presents itself as flavours, while the chocolate and liquorice seems to have faded. Finishes with a balanced, roasty bitterness.Carbonation seems just a little high.
