Malted barley, oats. The equivalent to Table Beer in our range of stouts and porters. Not brewed to 'dry stout'-style, per se, but a stout that is dry. Light-bodied but not thin, with more prominent kettle-hopping and then dry-hopping to add some brightness and contrast to the roasty, biscuity, and savoury character of the dark malts.

Bottle at home, 30/06/18. Black with a well presented tan cap that dissipates to a swirl and edgework. Nose is ashen, dried berry fruits, dusty hops, mellow roast, charr, chocolate, light spice. Taste comprises roast malts, burnt toffee, cocoa powder, charr, dusty hops, ashen notes, hint of liquorice, light spice. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close peppered with dusty hop bitterness. Solid hoppy stout ... great flavour for the ABV.

Tap at Craft Room. Pitch black, creamy tiny beige head. Aroma... Coffee, dry malty touches, herbal-citric Simcoe evident... Medium bodied, creamy taste, ending dry, smooth coffee and herbal-citric aroma hops... Bitterish finish, just a little. Excellent!

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Cotteridge Wines. Pours black with a tight, creamy tan head. Lovely torched pine in the aroma, some grapefruit, tangerine, cocoa. Light sweet with moderate ashy roast, bitter cocoa, more citrusy hops, burnt pine. Light bodied with fine carbonation and velvety texture. Well balanced finish, more bittersweet cocoa, sturdy roasted malts, grapefruit and tangerine, charred pine, some earth. Overall, masterful. Loads of character and complexity packed in here.

Opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Smooth semi dry palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, little dark chocolate, more and tangy coffee. Little earthy coffee. Simcoe ... well pretty modest here, little ripe orange and orange peel. Smooth finish.

Bottle from the brewery Bermondsey and drunk on a picnic blanket. Black beer cola colour lasting tan head. Dry roast aroma. I love this dry stout base beer. Just so good. Light pine from the Simcoe maybe some gooseberry. It's solid in the middle full in the mouth. Dry no doubt. Just a whole bunch of fun.
