Thanks fonefan! Pitch black colour, small beigeish brown head. Aroma is toffee, liquorice, chocolate and some mild dates and spiciness. Flavour is vanilla, mild spiciness, some wood, a bit toffee and chocolaty and dried fruity tones. Smooth.

12 oz. can, pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma brings out plenty of vanilla beans, with toasted caramel, and toffee. Flavour is loaded with vanilla beans that dominate, followed by caramel and toffee. There's some bready malt in back. Really like the vanilla beans in here.

Can (7/24/19--not exactly Drink Fresh, Do Not Age but beggars can't be choosers!) pour arranged via Chalumeaux--thanks, TJ! It's a clear, dark, dark brown/mahogany (virtually opaque black) with tons of sparkle, finger-width light brown foamy head with good retention and no lacing. Aroma is nice blend of vanilla and caramel/toffee and raisin/dark fruit. Taste is strong vanilla, toffee, cherry, apple pie--well balanced. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, creamy texture, average carbonation, no hint of alcohol and finish as taste. Overall, this has a lot of complexity for the style. If this is what it's like at 19+ months, can only imagine what it was like fresher!--though, judging by others' ratings, perhaps it aged rather well!

Dark brown colour. Biscuity malts, moderately sweet, with some treacle, and a good touch of vanilla.
