Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Fruity aroma with orange, yeast, ripe fruits, pale malt, fruity hops, floral and soft tropical notes, light spicy. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a hint of tartness. Body is above medium. Nicely fruity and hoppy with a fairly sturdy body, not as yeasty as I'd expect from a Saison, quite solid.

Bottle. Hazy orange colour with a mediumsized white foamy head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is wheat, citrus, some slight wood with mild funk too. Flavour is citrus, some peppery and mild dried fruity tones with a bit of yeast as well.

I know, I know, this was not a beer to cellar, but it happened anyway. After 2 years this pours a somewhat hazy deeo golden colour and a frothy off white head with good retention. Aroma's are sourish, dark malts, light raisin. Sourish, slightly oxidized retronasal. Flavour is light fruity sour, la hint of bitter. High carbonation. Medium bodied. Finish is dry, moderate bitter. Too old, still, not bad.

Hazy golden-amber, white head. Slightly fruity and caramelly, leaning just a little towards bubble gum (signs of age?), spicy herbs, light lacto / aceto. Moderate sweet malts and cereals, a little mealy, a little spicy, a little rooty, not at all hoppy. Feels like it's past its prime.

Bottle 330ml. @ home.[ As Oedipus / To Øl Yin ].Unclear - hazy medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, sweet malt, moderate hoppy, citrus, fruity hops, moderate yeasty, fruity yeast, funk notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average to long duration, fruity yeast, saison yeast, sweet yeast, fruity hops. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. A bit hazy dark orange colour, medium-sized white head and some lace. A bit tart, wheaty, citrus, Mosaic in the nose. Light to medium-bodied. Crisp carbonation. Saison yeast, light white pepper, overriped fruits in the flavour. Quite malty. Ok.

Ils y sont allés très fort sur le houblonnage à cru sur cette saison, coopération entre les brasseries Oedipus et To Øl. Un peu trop d'ailleurs car cela la rend agressive, d'autant qu'il faut compter également sur une petite acidité et cela écrase les autres arômes, notamment fruités, bien présents au nez. L'ensemble manque donc clairement d'homogénéité. Visuellement, C'est un blond orangé voilé qui se présente à nous, sans aucune mousse à la surface. Le nez est agréable sur la mangue, le fruit de la passion, l'orange, herbacé, résineux et avec un léger miel. La dégustation est nettement moins appréciable. Cette amertume agressive se fait ressentir dès l'attaque, couplée à une petite acidité. Côté arômes, nous sommes loin du nez, équilibré, ici ce sont les herbes, le poivre, une légère orange et surtout des arômes savonneux qui dominent. Cocktail pas terrible. La deuxième bouche est légèrement plus équilibrée, toujours avec cette amertume herbacée et les épices sur les devants, mais où les arômes fruités d'orange, mangue et fruit de la passion arrive à se frayer une petite place. L'arrière bouche est une catastrophe, complètement déséquilibrée, autour du couple amertume/acidité et d'arômes savonneux. D'ampleur moyenne, elle présente de plus une astringence marquée. Le final, sur une bonne longueur, reprend la seconde bouche, avec nettement moins d'épices cependant. L'alcool à 8% n'est quant à lui pas loin d'être aux abonnés absents. Pas fan.
