STRONG AMBER ALE with a deep copper hue, full body, and a big hop finish. This beer is definitely for the person who loves hops. The complex flavors are further enhanced with maturing over oak.

On tap at Pacific Coast, pours a hazy deep dark caramel brown with a small beige head. Aroma is along the same lines, with lots of dry piney hops, bready malt and tons of abrasiveness. Harsh and bitter. Decent.

Tap. Pours with a barely hazed amber hued body with a lasting bone colored head, that leaves good lace. Aromas of straw, orange, sticky, toffee, light vanilla and floral hops. Lots of caramel. Flavors of caramel, light esters, earthy, bitter, cola, dirt, tobacco, caramel. Hops are lightly citrusy, bitter balance. Light alcohol. Lively bubbles, lingering bitterness, not very dry. Medium duration. Meh.

On tap at the brewpub pouring up brilliant amber with copper hues and light tan head leaving sweets of lacing behind. The aroma seems to be a mix of caramel malts, pine hops, toffee and butterscotch. The taste slings together sweet caramel, pine hops and citrus hops. Midway and to the finish the pine hops grow and provide a fairly bitter hop finish even though I’m getting a sense of butterscotch too.

On tap. Clear, warm reddish amber with an off-white head leaving laces. Burned caramel and a little nuts in the nose. Quite full-bodied, sweet burned caramel and nuts with solid aroma hops that come late and leave a solid bitterness. 120709

Dark red amber ale with a thin off white head. Sweet malt with light raisins notes in aroma, and fruity esters. In mouth, barrage of hops with nice malt base, and woody oak notes. Rich, a bit harsh but definetly enjoyed. On tap, August 2005.
