On tap @ Long Arm. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, chocolate and smoke. Pours pitch black color with thin creamy light brown head and good lacing. Taste starts with rich and moderate sweet roasted malt and caramel, follows by chocolate, faint smoke and licorice, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is mild bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. This one’s not in anybody’s shadow…

Half-pint, on tap at the brewpub. Shared with Finn. Fawn-coloured head over a jet black body. spotty lacing. Well roasted nose, hints of caramel malts. Hints of smoke to the taste profile, additional hints of toffee and liquorice. Smoothly roasted ending, slightly doughy. Pretty decent stout version. (London 16.11.2021).

Delt med Rune. Svart. Mokkafarget filmskum. Aroma av melkesjokolade. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken sjokolade & lettrøstet malt. Litt kakao i avslutninga.

Draught @ Ealing Park Tavern, 222 South Ealing Road, Ealing, Greater London, England W5 4RL. [ As Long Arm Shadow Wolf ].Clear dark brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, smoke, light chocolate. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dark malt, smoke, roasted - caramel, burnt sugary dark malt - dark roasted, licorice notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20170417] 6-3-6-3-12

On tap at Ealing Park Tavern, pours an opaque black with some ringing tan head. Nose has toast, smoke, charcoal, burnt molasses. Flavor is better, more malt, more molasses, more char, caramel notes, hints of smoke and black pepper. Finishes off dry.

On Tap At the Cardinals Hat, Lincoln. Deep black colour with a light tan head. Aroma is light smoke, roasted malty. Taste is roasted bitter. Smooth body.

Cask at the Euston Tap, West Lodge, 17/03/17. Black with a decent tan head of bubbles. Nose is dark malts, charr, subtle bonfire notes, dark fruit whisper. Taste comprises chocolate, treacle toffee, black peppery spice, light smoke tones. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. A well constructed smoked stout ... good balance to this one.

Cask @ White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Black with a thin head, is lightly smoked with its ham notes best in its nose. Has a low roasted malt character and is quite smooth.
