GBBF Day 2. Cask. Almost clear dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, fairly dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Dry choccy malts, a little papery cream. Touch of ripe berry fruits. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Keg at King's Head, Aylesbury, Bucks. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a medium beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla taste and aroma. Nice one.

Gravity cask from the Draymans Son, Ely. Very close to black with a slight white head. Fresh vanilla, toffee and lots of liquorice in the nose. Sweet taste… very sweet and malty. Almost sickly. Long over&sweet finish. Too much liquorice in the aftertaste. Well made but far too sweet for the likes of jjsint.

Cask gravity at Brewery, Friday 24th July 2015 Pours black, it’s fruity with a smoothness and a light creamy edge (a split vanilla pod in every cask I am told) decent with a light roasty/bitterness. OkA6 A4 T6 P3 Ov11 3.0

Cask at Reading BF. Jet black with a loose off-white head. Pleasant chocolate, vanilla and roasted malt up front become unpleasantly slimy chocolate on tasting. Rather sweet too but with a hint of vomit. An unusually sub-standard beer for this brewery and a poor start to the beer festival. Got really slimy by the end- the beer itself, not the festival.
