Another delicatessen of our DHC series is this deep dark and sweet stout. Pair with a rich chocolate cake, hard cheese and try with curry!

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, coconut, roast, chocolate, fruity notes, coffee, hint of hops. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium to full, nicely creamy. Much, much better than the Bourbon vanilla variety.

Opaque dark brown beer, short lived pale tan head. Nose is mildly tangy chocolate malts. Thin palate, fairly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Cocoa powder dark chocolate thin malts, with some unwelcome esters. Sweet thin tangy coconut elevates this somewhat but overall this is very very far from what I want from a coconut Impy, thin and tangy. Come on Sori... you are so much better than this thin disappointment!?

One of a series of Dark Humor Club variants, this time with coconut. Bottle from BeerFreakChick, Dinka Sarkozi's new bottle shop in Ghent. Thick and mousy, mocha-beige, stable, regular head, black robe with hazy burgundy edges. Aroma of 'fondant' chocolate, toffee, bourbon, espresso, 'borstbollen', pecan nut pie, toasted coconut touch but no 'true' coconut aroma (alas), hazelnut paste, roasted chicory, fudge, molasses, treacle, thyme, liquorice and a vague hint of onsetting 'rusty' oxidation. Sweet onset, hints of dried figs and candied apricots, softish carb, full, creamy and oily body; dark-chocolatey and deeply toffeeish as well as very nutty maltiness, with quite long-stretched coffee-like roasted bitterness in the end, the roastedness accentuated by a spicy hop bitterness and bourbon-like, warming alcohol; again the coconut hardly comes through (if at all), contrary to that 'borstbollen' effect, lingering in the background as something vaguely cough syrup-like. Structurally well-made, well-roasted and smooth, but I cannot help feeling disappointed in not getting any of the promised coconut - just when I was in the mood for a tropical-fragrant coconut stout, which is not always the case...

Clear deep purple brown beer, small creamy beige head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: malty, caramel, molasses, oxidized, alcohol, phenols, syrupy, bit dirty. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty, soft roast, soft acidity, bitter touch, dry, smooth, velvety. Aftertaste: soft sweetness, hint of toasted coconut, some chocolate, bit oxidized, sugary, caramel, some ripe banana, malty, grains, some cardboard.

Tap (Pinta, Wrocław). Kokosowe, delikatnie słodkie, lekkie jak na imperialnego stouta, leciutko alkoholowe ale generalnie bardzo smaczne jeśli ktoś lubi nuty kokosowe.
