Océanides est notre Double IPA brassée exclusivement avec le houblon Galaxy. C’est l’occasion de tester des lots fort prometteurs de Galaxy que nous venons tout juste de recevoir. Océanides est rapidement devenu l’une de nos Double IPA favorites. Excessivement houblonnée, Océanides nous transporte dans de lointaines contrées australes avec des arômes de fruit de la passion, de mangue et d’agrume.

En fût au Bière Garden Octobre 21. Maltage évident. Notes de biscuit de céréales accompagnant un houblonnage fruité. Intéressante NEIPA.

Can that pours like a real orange juice with a small bubbly head that disappears quickly. Orange and some sweet fruits in the aromas, like pineapples, peaches. The taste is quite smooth as well with the citrus, light sweetness and decent bitterness building in the end. Enough dryness, like citrus zest, hints of spiciness, but again - fairly blended with nothing really sticking out. Even the alcohol is well-hidden. A very easy-drinking DDH DIPA.

Can: Poured a cloudy/hazy yellow/beige color ale with a medium size white foamy head with good retention and light lacing. Aroma of tropical floral hoppy undertones with some citrusy notes is quite nice. Taste is a mix of nice juicy notes with some tropical notes and some citrus notes with some residual sugar also noticeable. Body is full with limited filtration and good carbonation. Another enjoyable NEIPA.

(473ml can from L'Axe du Malt, Quebec City) Pours opaque yellow with a small white head and some small traces of lace. Aroma of lychee, funky overripe mango, passionfruit, overripe pineapple, FiveAlive citrus juice backing, a little dank weed that comes out of the mango, gentle pale malt. Flavour is semi-sweet with FiveAlive citrus juice blend again, pineapple juice too, backnotes of lychee florals, creamy with soft oaty doughy pale malt vibes and fruity esters, light kisses of resin and citrus oils in the finish, low bitterness and almost no hop burn in the very dry but creamy cereal-soft aftertaste. Medium-full slightly creamy body with soft carbonation. I love Galaxy and while this is a bit more pineapple than lychee in taste it certainly presses a lot of the buttons I want it to.

A milky yellow DIPA with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with pineapple, resinous hops, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet biscuits malt with resinous floral hops, treacle, light doughy character, alcohol warmth, nice. On tap at brewery.
