Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is roasted malt with chocolate, wood, juniper, coffee, definite notes of maple syrup, and mocha. Flavour is sweet with a moderate to medium bitterness. Body is full, alcohol is very well-hidden! Nice variety, the wood chips work particularly well, with juniper and maple syrup, though the cranberries are lost on me.

Thx to Marco for the bottle! Deep black color and a small tan head. Roasted malts, maple Sirup, dark chocolate, faint liquorice. Drying bitterness. Nice.

3/IV/21 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared @ home, BB: 20/II/23 (2021-252)
Clear dark brown to black beer, small irregular creamy to aery beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: harsh roast up front, alcohol, dark caramel, vanilla, bit malty, very nice stuff! MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: bit sweet first, matly, good roast, caramel, lots of maple syrup, pretty sweet, some dark chocolate. Aftertaste: good roast, bitter, bit hoppy, dry, sweet impression, some vanilla, more alcohol, lovely, very nice.

Bottle form Mad Marko, if memory serves me well. (thanks!). Black colour, brown head with reasonable retention. Aroma's: molasses, red fruit/berries. Retronasal it's sweetish, red fruit, light coffee, fudge. Flavour is above moderate sweet with roast. Medium to full bodied. Strong alcohol feel. Finishes with roast (almost ash), moderate bitter. Not quite what I expected (not much maple), but pretty good nonetheless.

Final bottle from EU swap and Markoijelena. Cheers. Aroma has dark coffee, a berry tang and ephemeral sweet maple. Dark. Inky. Foamy tan head. Medium bitter. Roasty coffee. Berry tang (again). Underlying smooth maple sweetness throughout. Develops spice into the finish alongside the rich roasty coffee. Heavy bodied. Oily. Sticky. Flat-average carbonation. Long warming slightly astringent finish. The booze isn't obvious at first and it then warms up. Lovely stuff. The different elements all just compliment each other.

Bottle. Black. Roast, caramel, vanilla and maple syrup in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet, full bodied. Low on carbon. Coffee. Hint of oak.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 17 Feb 2019) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with black coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce, liquorice, wood and treacle. Malty, roasted, vinous taste with notes of sweet espresso, cacao, treacle, maple syrup, liquorice, soy sauce, a touch of juniper berries and a generous coffee bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Powerful, sweet and really bitter. Hardly shy, but very nice.
