We've paired traditional malt flavours and soft English hops with a bold blend of blood orange zest, sweet maple syrup, brown sugar and spicy tonka beans (obviously). The rich and complex grain bill of Pale, Special B, Amber, Light Crystal and Cara Gold malt creates layers of caramel, raisins and biscuit with a bright, smooth finish. Collab with Vault City.

Draft at the brew tavern Nottingham. Slight murky brown colour. Sweet from the maple. Some balsamic. Tart. Rich and dried fruity. Mmmm.

Tap @ Café Sara. Unclear dark amber body under a moderate sized, lacing beige head. Interesting and strong aroma. Malt, toffee, dominating tonka, dry fruit, vanilla, maple syrup, spices and warming alcohol. Taste is very sweet with a complex mic of malt, toffee, caramel, dry fruit, tonka, spices, warming alcohol and hint of pumpkin pie. Weird, way too sweet and too much pastry for me, still it’s well made and I enjoyed this all the way.

Can from Eltham Wines. Dark brown pour with a beige head. Toffee, blood orange, caramel & light sweet spice aromas. Rich flavours of sweet tobacco, tonka beans, toffee, caramel, orange marmalade. Long orange toffee linger. Very, very nice indeed.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 24/09/24. Mahogany brown with a beige cap that thins to a swirl. Nose is toffee, tonka bean, spice, caramel fudge, booze, dark malts, maple syrup. Taste comprises toffee, good tonka bite, caramelised sugars, dried fruit rinds, maple syrup, booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced spike of alcohol. Fun adjunct filled BW ... the Tonka balances the sweetness.

Can from the Low Cost Beer online shop. BBE 25072029. Pours muddy dark brown with a short-lived thin beige head. Aromas are boozy orange, vanilla, maple syrup. Taste is more of the same. As one other rater states, has a definite cocktail vibe.

Can. A light haze on this amber beer, small but tidy pale tan head. Airy smooth palate, a little viscosity, decent fine carbonation. Rich caramel and brown sugar malts, creamy sweet. Singed ripe orange peel fits in well. I'm not the worlds greatest Tonka lover, that bean could fuck right off and I would not lose a wink or sleep, it's alright here mind. That weird pseudo vanilla works well enough here, a light touch of its equally weird pseudo chocolate on the end which also brings some alcohol spice. Decent barleywine, although still a bit Tonka'd to make it a top notch offering to me.

Near-opaque orangey-brown beer, thick fizzy head which fizzles away. Aroma has loads of malt, tonka, bitter orange. Flsvour has a big mix of tonka and bittersweet orange up front which go together really nicely and the syrup lends it a softer sweetness, plus there's malt and boozy warmth and a nicely balanced finish. Delicious.
