Our most traditional beer – a British best bitter, hopped with suitably seafaring hops; Admiral and Columbus, alongside Challenger for a spicy bitterness.

Bottle in my pub at home, The Fat Lads' Arms. Good pour and a mahogany colour in the glass that got me looking at the ingredients, but all in order. Rich and bitter hops and a touch of farmyard that blitzed across the palate. Great old school bitter.

Gravicask at The 14th Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival 2022, Marquee Bar. Shared with Finn. Stable white head, amber body, spotty lacing. Dusty hops and doughy malts on the nose. Spiced fruity flavours with a mid-sweet malty base. Quite nice bitter fruity end. Pretty good. (Nottingham 13.10.2022).

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - cheers Graham!]. Cloudy, amber colour with huge, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, caramel malty and fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of red berries, a touch of toffee. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel and minimally nutty malty, fruity hoppy hints of red berries, some toffee, leafy overtones. Slightly overcarbonated.
