Keg at Brewdog AGM 2015. Pours black with a slim tan head. Aroma rich roasted malts, coffee, charcoal, liquorice. Taste: light to moderate sweet with more bitterness, dry, roasted malts, dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, liquorice. Medium to full body with tight carbonation

Fra fat på Bishops Arms i Ørebro 23 Jun 16. Svart. Mokkafarget skum. Aroma av lakris & nøtter. Smaken nøtter. Intenst søtt bourbon-preg. Alkoholen merkes ikke. Utmerket øl - men kanskje litt monotont.

At Craft & Draft. Lightly lacing, pale greyish beige, moussy head, black robe with burgundy hue. Aroma of mocha ice cream, toffee, cocoa, leather, cappuccino, caramel, beef stock, liquorish, some vanilla. Candied sweetness in the onset (but nothing cloying) balanced with basic roasted barley sourishness, hint dried banana, soft carbo, more or less resinous, oily, supple mouthfeel, nutty and toasted malt bittersweetness with both caramelly sweet and coffeeish bitter aspects to it, peppery hop ’sting’ in the finish with warming, bourbon-like alcohol. Nice!

Draught@SBWF2015. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is alcohol, liquorice, some toffee, mild earth and a bit ripe fruits. Flavour is similar, with a bunch of chocolate to it.

Draught at SBWF 2015, second weekend.Very dark brown to black color, small brown head. Ashes, some alcohol, roasted scent. Malty, ashes, roasted taste. Sweet, liqourice aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness.

Tap at SBWF2015. Dark brown color, small brownish head. Toasted, cocoa aroma. Medium-bodied. Feels less than 12 p. Toasted maltyness, some coffee, even coffeeish. Ok.

Tap@ sbwf15. Side by side with ba version Pours black with a thin brown head. Roasted malt, strong coffee, ash. Flavor has ash, roastedness, tobacco, dark chocolate notes. Heavy, yet easy to drink. Solid. Complex, grows on you.

Sample at SBWF 2015. Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, licorice, some wood, dark chocolate and dark fruit. The body was almost full and the aftertaste was long and dry. Tasty.
