Small Beer is an exceptionally satisfying and full-bodied beer for its stature, with the same big hop hit you may expect from our more muscular Pale Ales. Small Beer is vibrant with citrus, tropical fruit and hedgerow berry flavours, meandering to a gentle bitter finish.

Bottle from Cambridge Wine Merchants, Bridge Street. Dark gold, cloudy, not much obvious carbonation, almost no head. Floral scent with apple skin, mango and lychee. Bittersweet and fruity taste.long bitter finish. Very watery palate, and flat as a pancake. Very decent considering the low ABV.

Bottle at Appellation Wines tasting. Hazy golden body with a medium white head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of tonic water and lime. Flavour of yeast, orange and white bread. Thin body with a watery texture. Very soft fizz. Not as fresh and zingy as other Wiper & True Small Beers, but good for the ABV.

Keg at BDoge Bushards Shep, 14/04/16. Hazel golden orange topped with a decenet off white head. Nose is orange creme, light citric sherbet, mellow hop, toasted malt. Taste comprises orange pith, sharper citric elements when contrasted to the nose, light pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a bitter hop rinse. Solid stuff for the ABV.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Hazy amber colour lasting off white head. Tropical fruit aroma. It’s an ok golden ale. Some hoppiness to it. Like a white stone fruit with a little tropical fruit. Not much malt as you would expect. But you wouldn’t know it’s a 2.4% ABV beer. Decent enough.
