Large foamy light brown head in a near black still body. Malt, tonka & boozy aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with a sharp clean back. Malt, toffee, raisin, tonka & berry tastes with bitter lightly hopped finish.

Bottled. Deep brown colour with a mediumsized foamy off-white head. Aroma cinnamon, love and some chocolaty notes with mild roast as well. Flavour is nicely chocolaty with some roasted notes as well as some slight cinnamon and clove. Mild coffeeish notes in the finish.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up maybe at Kris Wines. Pours deep brown with a foamy, beige head. Nicely rounded, with hints of oxidation, lots of toasted coconut, oily chocolate, mellow ashy roast, nips of booze. Medium to full bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Warming finish, some bitter ashy notes, more coconut, baking cocoa, roast, earth. Solid.

Tap. Shakespeare’s, Sheffield. Clear, dark, reddy brown. Thin and glossy, lasting, beige head. Nose has that tonka bean, fruity, cinnamon, and white chocolate weirdness in spades. Beyond that, there isn’t too much going on, really. Taste has a cinnamon like bitterness. Some sweetness. Slick and oily mouthfeel. Keg level carbonation feels at odds. More cinnamon to finish.

Tap@Beavertown Extravaganza 2017, London - pours black with a tan head. Roasted and sweet malty with chocolate, some coffee, caramel, and some nice nutty accents, lots of coconut and vanilla coalesce into the close.

Keg at the Beer Hall, Staveley. Very dark brown, pretty much opaque, with a large khaki head. Coffee beans, vanilla, Bakewell tart, Lotus biscuits and fudge brownie in the aroma. Taste is sweet without being sickly due to the well-adjudged presence of earthy hop. Long bittersweet finish, with caramel, toffee, S'mores. This is pretty incredible.
