The Pigs Ear wrap up tasting at ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy amber beer, decent cream colour head. Palate is airy, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Sweet creamy malts and a lot of sweetish cinnamon. A little dried fruits. Cinnamon sugar bomb!

The nose is toasted grain, ginger, musty, cracker, cheap bread and rivita, The taste is drying upfront, toasty, earthy, rivita, fiery ginger, festive spice, mint and mild acidity. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty basic. No real depth or balance. A bit messy.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear, rich gold with a creamy, white head. Big spice aroma, notes of gingerbread, lime zest, bread. Light to medium sweet flavour with pale bready malts, wintery spices, more ginger and zesty citrus fruits. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with continuing holiday spice character, and lightly toasted bread. Not bad for a spicer.
