Bottle - pours dark ruby - this beer isn’t quite sure what it wants to be - is it a dark Belgian? - an imperial stout? - a foreign export stout? - it’s kinda all three, but as a result, isn’t completely successful at being any - there’s lots of pleasant candi sugar and Belgian yeast character, but a bunch of dark malt roastiness and bitterness gets in the way of it rather than complimenting it - texture is a bit too thin for a stout and the body is kind of watery - meh - not in enjoyable, but I’m still not exactly pleased that I have three more bottles of this.

8 oz draft at the Portland Bottling location. Pitch black, thin tan head. Aroma is light charred malt, yeast, chocolate. The flavor is nice: chocolate nuanced throughout, light char, yeast in the finish. Good body and texture is proper.

Soft barley aroma with lots of dark chocolate and carbonation. Good beige head and jet black body. Flavour is nice licorice notes and motor oil hints, bitter and dark just like me! The sweet finish could be crispier. It's a nice big heavy imperial stout.
