Een rookbock zoals hij hoort te zijn! Tonen van karamel en geroosterde mout en rooksmaak van gerookte mout. De rooksmaak zit heerlijk in de andere smaken verweven, waardoor het erg goed in balans is.

Bottle at home. Aroma of sweet malt, smoked ham, charred wood, caramel, hint of chocolate. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Definitely a tasty smokey Dunkler Bock.

Bottle, tasted at the brewery and , later, @home. "The Dutch answer to Schlenkerla Bock" I said at the brewery, and I still stand by that remark. Should be served at 10 Degr C. Smoked ham, beechwood and pineapple in the aroma. The flavor hardly leaves room for any fruity esters, not even at a higher temperature. Just an uncompromising fat malty flavor with loads of smoke and a touch of alcohol. Fat bacon and beechwood smoke. Only a touch of dark chocolate. Endless aftertaste. This beers grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go. Mommeriete is at its very best when pushing the limits of German beertypes. Re-rate: had a 2009 sample from tap in Hengelo. The fat bacon and beechwood aromas and flavors were quite noticeable. Yet the beer was decptively drinkable. Excellent!

Draught (PINT Bokbier Festival 2015, Amsterdam) - Copper with a slight haze. Smoked malt, plums and raisins in the aroma. Biscuity malt, caramel, peach and some smoky notes can all be detected in the nicely balanced taste.

[9/28/14] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2014 in Rotterdam. Nice clear red-amber. Pleasant smoked wood and sausages aroma. Sweetish flavor, malty, caramelly, with a nice meaty smokiness and a nutty note. Medium-bodied. Quite nice.

Sampled draft @ BAF 2014. Thank you! Dark brown, creamy tanned. Sweet iron, lots of mocha, sugar, smoke is very light. Taste is iron, metal, sweet sugar, herbs, like in the way of smoke. Okay body. Far from what it could have been.
