Brewed with chalk-filtered water from the brewery’s own well. This lager pours to a light gold colour, with a crisp, hoppy finish. The lager is carefully crafted using a brewing process lasting several weeks - allowing the flavour and smoothness to develop. Brewed with malt from the finest Maris Otter barley and three hops; Hallertau, Saaz and Styrian Goldings.

Bottle at home in London - picked up in Norwich. Pours clear gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds cereal, hints of lightly tangy citrus, mellow butter. Light sweet flavour with dry cereal, doughy white bread, diacetyl, mild bitter hay. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with some pale grains, tangy lemon, buttered biscuits, straw, very faint paper. A mediocre lager.

Bottle that Jim shared- cheers! Golden-amber in hue; rather too fizzy for my liking. Butter and caramel are the most notable elements; there’s some honey, a little sharp lemon and a hint of grass in the sweetish finish. As lagers go this isn’t bad at all, in fact having just checked it seems to be my joint highest rating in the pale lager style. So overall a nice way to clock up the unfortunate milestone of having rated 50 pale lagers.

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Clear gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and semi dry. Mild pale malts, touch of grain. Modest citric bitterness. Light semi dry finish. Mild bitter linger. It’s fine.

Bottle at Chris & Ruth’s pre GBBF shindig; straw yellow pour, historical head, lemon and sweet malt aroma, taste has bready malts and some light lemon.

50 cl bottle. Pours pale yellow with a fully gone head. Aroma is toasted malt and light butterish. Toasted malty. Bitter and slight herbal. Dry and toasted finish.
