A ruby-coloured bitter with a rich, spicy, roasted aroma and a full, malty body, resulting in a full-bodied mouthfeel.

500ml bottle: part of a three ’Moon Gazer’ pack. All three shared with my father on 22nd Aug 2016 at his place. Slight ruby hue to the amber bodied beer, white topping. Malts lead the way, semi-sweet and lightly roasted, some dark fruits in the background within both the nose and flavour: decent.

Bottle. Nose is nut , roast malts, light herbal hop. Taste is malt, berry, light herbal hops, a slight nut note, toast, a little brown sugar. A decent example of a tedious style.

Pre GBBF tasting as Chris and Ruth’s. Clear amber beer, good white head. Light semi dry palate. Modest carbonation. Tangy malts, some caramel. Very ripe dried fruits. Trace of bitterness on the semi dry finish. Meh.

Cask @ Ale Emporium, Preston. More chestnut than ruby with a creamy head. There’s some light paler malts here, all with an underlying sweetness to them, but there’s a dryness in the palate as well. Its nose carries a more malt aroma as well as a bitterness.
