Meh. The flavor doesn't last very long. Had high hopes. Did not meet them.

Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-Xmas Tasting. It pours near black with a decent tan head. The nose is toasty, quite fragrant, bitter – sweet, bergamot, stewed fruits, peach, earth and black tea. The taste is bitter, toasty, earth, ashy, light umami, peppery spice, mild acidity, black tea and liquorice. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Pretty decent stuff, particularly the aroma.

Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear brown with a light, tan cream head. The nose holds toasted bread, earth, mild chocolate and coffee. Medium sweet flavor with further notes of sugary bread, chocolate and bitter earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation, Sugary on the finish with notes of burnt toast and faint vanilla. So so.

Draft. Dark brown color, medium tan head. Aroma of cocoa powder, toffee, light tea. Much more tea in the aroma, not sure it meshes well with the chocolate and toffee. Interesting anyway.

4th July 2015
Opaque black - brown beer, decent pale tan head. Palate is soft and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, mildly sweet, no roast, but fairly dry. Nice light level of Earl Grey, that characteristic flavour plus mildly citric Bergamot fruits and spice. Light dry finish. Comes together well.
