Deep dark brown with a frothy tan head and a roasted malt and coffee aroma. Fresh with dark fruit notes, coffee bitterness, a touch of chocolate and a slightly dry bittersweet finish.

500ml bottle from Hop Vault, Stourbridge, online. Pours black with moderate sized beige head, nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, roast, and nuts galore, hint of blackcurrant. Taste is the same with big nut flavours, fruity blackcurrant, some spice and ash. Light to medium bodied, fine to moderate carbonation. Enjoyable.

500ml bottle – Pours a deep dark brown colour with a small thin beige head that settled. The aroma is roasted; roasted malts, burnt toffee, bitter coffee with nutty, smoke and liquorice notes. A rich roasted taste, roasted malts, coffee, toffee, liquorice and smoky flavours with a roasted finish.

Cask at PoW, Farnborough. Odd eggy sour aroma. Dark cola brown, thin in the light. Frothy beige head. Sweet veg and caramel. Some berries come through. Medium bodied. Slick. Soft carbonation. Long finish. More of a mild than a stout. Would proba ly score higher if it wasn't being sold as a stout.
