Another beer acquired from the decent people at Half Time Beverages, this time a one pint can. I have a tulip glass from Buffalo Bayou catching this one. The appearance is a solid black body with a persistent skim of of khaki tan foam. I lift for a sniff. Lots of grain, some chocolate, malt and earth. The taste is tasty with a properly full sensation. Blackened toast, tobacco, malt, dark chocolate, some molasses, black licorice and just enough blackberry to register. Better than anticipated.

Panda at home, thanks to the Wingmane, 19/12/23. Black with a khaki covering that stays for the show. Nose is cocoa powder, charr, light roast, toffee, dried fruit rinds. Taste comprises roast malts, burnt toffee, charr, dark malts, chocolate, light spice. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, light drying close with a mellow kiss of alcohol. Okay sipper but a little stuck in third gear and lacking depth for the ABV.

Cinnamon, roast and caramel. Some coffee. Don't know where the cinnamon comes from, makes me think these guys didn't clean their taps. Black pour with decent head. Light tangy finisht. Tap at Crafthouse Reston.

Can (11/8/22) pour from Candia First Stoppe Country Store. It's an opaque black (dark brown/mahogany at the bottom of the glass) with light viscosity, decent sparkle, 3-finger light brown foamy head with good retention and light, splotchy lacing. Aroma is strong earthy roasted malt, toffee, brown bread, nuts. Taste follows aroma with everything tilted to the charred side. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and crisp finish as taste with lingering dry bitterness. Overall, they get a lot out of their ingredients without adjuncts.

16 oz can. Dated: 10-28-2021. Yes, batches can have the same recipe and vary slightly in alcohol by volume. 9% on label. Pitch black / raven feather color. Flavor is sweet upfront that lends way to a roasted and earthy character. The sweetness is raisin, plum, and a treacle like finish. Medium bodied, and it is very well balanced. ABV is mostly hidden. A very well, classically made imperial stout.

Oxford tasting; bottled 03/22/2017, 9% ABV
Black color, large brown head. Delicate aroma of dark malts, bready. Smooth mouthfeel, some roasted malt, bread, but not enough body, and very simple overall.

Can from Craig, thanks for the hookup! Inky black color with a mocha head that persists. Earthy roasty chocolate and caramel with a hint of cardboard. Decent sipper.
