500mL bottled 4/22/24, #539/1320, drunk 10/31/25.
Head immediately fizzles out. Dark. Clear.
I'm not getting a lot of the unrefined sugar nose that I get in nearly all of their non-BA barleywines and stouts. Or not much of it, at least. More of a vinous character with big fudge and light mallow-like sugar. Some light acidity does seem to perk up and potentially balance, though I'm skeptical. Not boozey. Not really a lot of salted caramel, but that's fine with me.
Espresso-laced caramel with low salinity but good bitterness. Mallow and vanilla notes crowd in as fudgey chocolate sweetness begins to overwhelm. Light prune, tobacco, salt and a good deal of sugar on the finish, with a slightly syrupy, chewy body. No alcohol noted. I mean, for their non-BA stuff, this is like in the 90th percentile for least amount of sugar, but, unfortunately, that standard is so low that it still has a ton of sugar. I've had 4 or 5 sips and will now be dumping it all.

Sweet, heavy and sticky with some syrup, toffee and caramel. A bit unbalanced. --- Beer merged from original tick of Salted Caramel Stay Puft (2024) on 07 Nov 2024 at 15:13 - Score: 7. Original review text: Sweet, heavy and sticky with some syrup, toffee and caramel.

On tap at Blaze, Bar Harbor while in town for a wedding. Dark, thin, oily head. Molasses, sugary, fruity, dense, coating nose. Toasted caramel with significant marshmallow fluff. Caramel popcorn, oily molasses. slightly burnt, neat carbonation, margarine residual, very appropriate. Good.

Bottle (5/6/21) pour. It's an inky, opaque black with nice viscosity, trace sparkle, ephemeral light brown cap of head and no lacing. Aroma is strong sweet malt with borderline dark fruit character, lighter marshmallow and caramel. Taste is strong initial sweet malt, dark fruit character, chocolate, followed by marshmallow and late caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with thick, smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, through and through, this is sweet. I like it but it's a little over the edge of the cloying, overly sweet, syrupy side, even for me. All flavors are represented though the marshmallow and caramel don't share equal billing with the base stout.

8 ounce draft at the membership party. Aroma is melted caramel candy. Sea salt. No doubt there is caramel here. Very candy like. Abv is hidden. 4 oz is enough for me. They did nail the flavor profile! Just sweet.

Caramel, marshmallow, hint of salt in the finish. Abv is hidden due to the sweetness.
