Fruity, light and acidic beer. Passion fruit inspires joy, freshness and fun. Passiflora is one of the genera of the passion flower family and its fruit is passion fruit. Berliner Weisse is an acidic historical style recovered from Germany that is traditionally served with woodruff or raspberry syrup. We give it a touch of elegance with passion fruit.

33 cl bottle at La Buena Pinta, Mercado de San Fernando, Lavapiés, Madrid, served in pint glass (that was a long line, I must admit.) Pours crystal greenish golden, white head that goes off in a blink. Aroma, aroma, aroma: well, let me tell you: this ain’t no Berliner weisse, no no no... here we face American hops galore: grapefruit, pomelo, passionfruit, dry lemon... Not a trace of European, let alone German hops. Bone dry, very sour, light-bodied. Refreshing and low-lingering finish. Simple and nice.

Draught @ BA Hornstull. Easy going with notes of pear, lime and mint. Some strange off tastes, otherwise nice.
