Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark brown close to black with a two finger off-white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: milk chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel/toffee malts, roasty notes and a light sweet coffee tone far down in there
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to a fairly sweet to roasty and slightly bitter quality; finishes chocolatey, coffee-ish and slightly caramel-like
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; some smoothness but possibly could have had a bit more body to this one.
Overall: great aromas and flavors - just get that body bigger compared to it's projected ABV and this one could be a great one

Tap at River Road Tavern Dark brown bordering on black with a good sized tan head that persists. Rich roasty chocolate and hints of caramel and dark dried fruits.

Can. Flavor and aroma are a mirror. Mild caramelized sugar, day old coffee, and weak roast. Considering the gravity, body comes off a tad thin. Still pretty drinkable.
