A good Bohemian Pilsner will be very clear pale gold orange gold. The head will be a dense, creamy-white and should last a good amount of time. It is nothing like the watery, predominately tasteless, lacklustre, mass-market expression of this style so common on the shelves. Our Bohemian Pilsner is rich with complex malt, buttery diacetyl flavours rounded nicely by spicy tones from the Saaz hops. Bitterness is noticeable but not hard edged and it fades gently into the clean, crisp aftertaste.

Grains: Bohemian Pilsner, Caramel Pilsner and Munich Malt
Hops: Saaz

First ratingBlindlagerprovning, tack Ingo!Bottle on January 24, 2016.BB 11.12.2016.Hazy golden color, small white head. Since I knew we were tasting lagers had my doubts even here at the look of it, but figured perhaps it was dry hopped, hence hazy due to this?Vile, sulphuric, phenolic, plastic, acidic, compost, garbage scent. At first when I smelled it I made such a face that Ingo started laughing, been a long time since I smelled a beer that was so off!Acidic, grassy, mineral taste. Acidic aftertaste, also compost and garbage. At first taste was almost acceptable, but with a slight temperature shift and then the enhanced aftertaste, goes down the drain next...Medium, fizzy, though OK mouthfeel. Low bitterness.Sad to say the only thing I found OK in this beer was the mouthfeel and the bitterness level. More than one thing gone wrong here, terribly wrong! Feels like problems in recipe, in fermentation and in sanitation. This bottle might have been a bad bottle only, but this bottle should really never have left the brewery, or best of all, never been produced in the first place. When I found out it was West Coast that brewed it I was a bit sad, had much higher hopes for this new local brewery, but indeed hope this was just a crap bottle that slipped through.1/2/2/3/3=1.1RerateBacklog, used to work for this brewery and at time reviewed the beers I tasted, now that I am no longer employed figured I can enter them.33 cl bottle on September 18, 2016. BB 05.01.2017. Batch 15054.Hazy pale golden color, white head with lacing. Malty, slight sweet, a bit herbal hoppy scent. Herbal hoppy, grassy taste. Herbal hoppy aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness.6/3/7/3/13=3.2

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Hazy golden, rocky head. Aroma of tea, hay and metal. Dry with medium body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Hay and iron, sourdough and tea. Resiny bitter finish with more metal. Between the metallic edges it is a beer with lots of qualities, but polishing is needed. This is a beer I need to revisit.
