Donkerbruin toto zwart bier met mooie stevige schuimkraag. Smaak is fruitig fris zuur met duidelijk iets van kersen, wat koffie en wat citrus.

24 October 2019. At Bier Circus, Brussels. Cheers, Anke & Pieter! Cloudy dark brown, blackish, with a lasting, small, foamy, beige head. Aroma has lots of cherries, sweet and sour, Mon Chéri, fondant, marzipan, chocolate powder, raisin. Taste has sour cherries galore with an almond-, marzipan-like, nutty sidenote, chocolatey & biscuity maltiness, vague sweet cherries too, bitter mocha & chocolate powder, faintly chemical effect. Dryish, earthy hoppy finish, a bit toasty, quite tart, lingering sweet & sour cherries, warming Maraschino-like alcohol. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. Interesting Fruited Porter, somewhat over the top actually, definitely messy too, not blending well. But if you want to try something else for a change...

750ml caged and corked(fake) bottle. 1I see 1-12(months?) and 13-19(years?) but nothing is notched.
Removing the fake cork, I got silence. Hint of lack of carbonation...could be.
The pour shows a murky reddish brown, tiny head of foam that's gone almost instantly. No lacing.
Smells of sour cherries, some acetic acidity, light aromas of Brett.
Cherries and Brett are very assertive without being overly tart. Hint or 2 of vanilla.
Lightish body with the slightest bit of carbonation or..I could be imagining it.
All in all, this comes across to me very wine like. Good enough for me to finish the bottle.

Flaska från Belgien. Bf-datum 2017-11. Helt ok.
