Red waxed 750mL bottle pours with a clear mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up booze then bourbon barrel and then mild plum and fig like notes. The taste delivers smooth deep sweet malts, plums, caramel, molasses and a bit of spicy black strap molasses. Yes. To midway a modest degree of smooth bourbon and booze comes to the surface. Smooth, deep and involved. Great sipper. Wow!

Sample from 2016 bottle at What The Funk!? on 10/04/2017. The beer is a murky mahogany-brown color with a medium light beige head that diminishes gradually to a dense film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of bourbon, roast malt and vanilla. Full-bodied with flavors of oaky bourbon, vanilla, caramel malt and a bit of earthy hop. The finish is oaky with a malt and bourbon aftertaste. Good beer overall.
