Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Lightly hazy deep amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest carbonation. Very tangy fruits, edging toward sour. Mild floral bitterness before a semi dry finish. Just another (tangy) porter.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours mostly clear brown with a bubbly, off-white head. Mild roast in the aroma, with hints of cocoa and ripe fruits. Light sweet flavor, with dried and lightly tangy berries, earth, wood. Light in body with fine carbonation; OK condition. Lightly sweet on the finish, with some tangy and leathery berries, plum hints of char. So so overall.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken white head. The aroma is woody, light roasted malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, light coffee, nutty, resin hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Half pint, hand-pulled cask at Crown Inn, Stockport. Pours a creamy fawn-coloured head to a red-brown coloured body. Solid lacework. Grainy chocolate on the nose. Mixed taste of brown and black malts, including dark chocolate, earth, and caramel. Nicely, mild roasted finish. Medium bodied. Likable (03.02.2015).
