Keg at Rustin Tap West. It pours jet black with a small beige head. The aroma is rich roasted, loads of umami, big liquorice, rich roasted malt, plain chocolate, charred wood, smoke, tobacco and molasses. The taste is dry, bitter, rich roasted malt, earthy, charred, dull smoke, chewy, toothy, peppery spice, toasted grass, charcoal, loads of salted liquorice, umami and tar with a dry, toasty and chewy finish. Medium+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Nice example of a rarely seen style. It is really toothy with loads of liquorice.
