Cask-conditioned, served by gravity at the Tewkesbury winter beers festival, 7/2/2014. Near black with next to no head. Dense malts, some dark chocolate and plenty of rast, before a dryish finish. No coconut evident, but good nonetheless.

Cask at the Euston tap. Dark brown pour with a lasting light cream head. Aroma is dark choc light roast and wood. Flavour is stale, metallic and blood with some wood and desecaded coconut. Finish is more mellow with caramel edges. Really nice smooth medium full bodied palate with light carbonation. Decent.

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Very dark with lovely roasted malts that are not quite chocolate or coffee and do go a long way to representing the ’coconut’ on the label.

Draft at Pigs Ear Beer Festival 2013 - London. Pours clear, red-brown with a bubbly tan head. The nose has toasted brown bread and hints of coconut chips. Medium sweet flavor with moderate, oily coconut notes, some chocolate. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly sweet to finish with further oily coconut character, underscored by chocolaty malts. Decent.

Cask (Bitter Virtue, Southampton) - Black in colour. Liquorice, roasted malt and coconut in the aroma. Smooth, roasted and chocolatey taste with notes of coconut being evident yet not overwhelming. Notes of cocoa and coffee can also be detected.

Cask at the Henley Brew House. A black pour with a ruby glow and a loose beige head;the aroma is predominantly chocolate with a light touch of coconut; in th emouth there are silky, deeply roasted, chocolate malts and more definite coconut; then a lingering finish with toasted malts. Dark chocolate Bounty bar in a glass.

Cask at St Albans beer shop in a 1 litre take home bottle. A ruby/black coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Chocolate, dark fruit aroma. Tastes of chocolate, dark fruit, hint of coconut but not in a big way, chocolate is the main theme here. Nice porter.

Cask at Pigs Ear, 03/12/13. Light black with reddish hues when held to the light, moderate tan pond work settles atop the glass. Nose is Bounty bar of the dark chocolate variety (red wrapper - cardboard tray insert!), dark malts, sugar, coconut shavings. Taste comprises dark chocolate, coconut shreds, toffee fudge. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, sweet finale. Decent offering, coconut well evident.

Cask at Craft Clerkenwell. It pours deep ruby/brown with a small beige head. The nose is earth, toast, bitter-sweet, light roast and coffee. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, toast, caramel, coconut, earth, coffee and cocoa with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth, but it is super smooth and drinkable.
